Republican voters in Florida’s 26th congressional district will choose between 19-year incumbent Mario Diaz-Balart and challenger Darren Aquino in the Aug. 23 primary election.
Waiting in the wings for the Nov. 8 general election will be Democratic candidate Christine Olivo, a political newcomer who is running unopposed in her party’s primary.

Diaz-Balart has a 39% Conservative Review Liberty score, which is less than pathetic.
He's one of the 47 Republicans who voted with the Democrats on the recent marriage bill.
We can easily be rid of him.
And I believe he’s very Pro Amnesty, is he not?
Mario Diaz-Balart is a RINO. He was one among many who received an endorsement from president Trump.
Also, Michael Waltz is the Trump endorsed incumbent in Florida district 6, Waltz also voted with the other 46 Rinos for the gay marriage act.
Michael Waltz likes to vote with the democrats and now wants to send “advisors” to Ukraine.
Mr. Charles E. Davis is running against Waltz in this primary, we need to send Mr. Waltz home.
Florida has its full complement of RINO politicians and then some, both in Congress and at the state legislative level. Speaking of RINOs, Diaz-Balart and Waltz are both going to win in cakewalks in August and probably again in November.
That’s because neither one appears to have any viable challengers at all but in south Florida the Cuban-American portion of the electorate can sometimes fluctuate wildly from one election to the next, so a Democrat always has at least *some* chance there. Probably not much of a chance in 2022 however.
