This was part of the US$400 billion plan signed between China and Russia some years ago to incrase natural gas sales to China. Which is really important because China needs to aggressively move away from coal-fired power plants to clear up the dirty air over China’s major population centers.
But do we want China to clean up its dirty air?
On a more serious point, China is importing more nat gas from Turkmenistan than from RuZZia. Power of Siberia has been a money loser for RuZZia so far.
