Most folk don’t know it was T. Boone Pickens that decimated the fossil fuel power generation in Texas and Oklahoma. He had more gold than sense and talked a good game. Started out by saying let’s add wind power to the grid, then proceeded to dismantle the existing power generations, so he could profit off his wind farms. And he was an oil and gas man. OSU did get a bigger football stadium.

Electricity isn’t selling for $.30/wKh. It has doubled to about $.15/kWh.

All prices are listed at www.powertochoose.com

I already looked. A 36 month plan was $.15 but a 12 month plan was $.25. He told me in his area he saw $.30 quotes.

Texas shouldn’t be depending on wind turbines, to power the state, period.

Look how that worked out during the statewide freeze.

ERCOT is ran by a bunch of bureaucrats.

Then add to that hot windless days, like you said, and it’s even less.

NO ONE with an IQ much greater than dirt would depend on wind o solar to provide baseload. IN the old days, baseload was met with reliable power and if I remember correctly, about 130% of the expected load had to be available. So when the biggest generator tripped (usually a nuclear unit), the grid stayed up and stable.

So once we get rid of these leftist DimWIT loons, we can get real power generation back and they can load follow the undependable solar and wind. It's stupid and criminal to count wind and solar as dependable.

As we found out in Texas a couple of winters ago, people will die when stupid people are in charge..

Yes, we know about Three Mile Island and Fukishima and Chernobyl. Why are we letting fears from such events dictate our official energy policies?

Yep, and with those failures, nuclear is still by far the safest way to produce electricity. The whackjobs just have people scared of a nuclear boogeyman.

The media is nothing but vicious, despicable liars.

If we used the same criteria as the media did on nuclear, there would be no passenger plane flights. Because a number of mass fatalities happened in the 50s.

"What’ca gonna eat?"

What agricultural products are grown in Texas that require illegal alien farm-workers and are not harvested mechanically?

The same thing happens on the east coast. When the Bermuda high spreads out the wind goes light and the temps go up. Happens most of the summer.

“people will die”

It’s for the “greater good”..so it’s okay.
