Same ole leftist/socialist crap. They will never get so many problems are caused by the bureaucracies and the people they employ. NO Fedgov employee should have a permanent job. That goes for many State and Local employees.

Civil service ‘reform’ was done to get rid of the problems created by the spoils system—the most egregious of which was a Presidential assassination. The spoils system insured that the President had a civil service that had to at least pretend to be loyal to him to keep their jobs.

We have now gotten to a point where the civil service reform protections need to be changed. Presidents, like say President Trump, find themselves dealing with civil service employees who actively try to thwart his agenda and if possible bring him and his administration down.

“The sky is falling.” This argument gets old. I think the lefts’ voters will tune out on this one. Just look at how the public went ho-hum over the SCOTUS abortion ruling.
Abortion is still legal and the lefties just don’t want to fight in the aftermath.

These lazy slugs don’t “serve” the American people. None of them are civil servants. They are arrogant, self-centered manipulators and resistors of ANY reforms or productive job improvements.

They don’t DO much of anything and it is at their own speed. They have two working speeds...slow and stop.

Any worker without fear of job termination quickly becomes worthless.

All I can say is good. Most are not competent, and are only concerned about themselves and how things affect them. The concept of fiscal responsibility is beyond thier grasp. They operate by concensus of the ignorant. They are both self righteous and stupid. Most of the GS schedule should be completely eliminated.

This only applies to Excepted Service Federal Employees. Competitive Service employees are not affected by this proposal.

Excepted Service jobs are kind of like political appointees but not quite. They are often filled by people who have been exclusively selected for hire in a certain position that was not offered to other applicants. Competitive Service jobs must be publicly advertised and candidates go through the process competing against their peers like in many private sector job openings.

Yes. I agree with Trump. We have to fix the government in order to fix America.

1. Get rid of the SES.

2. Replace retirements with 401ks.

3. Make the gov benefits package on par with the civilian sector.

4. No nepotism. You can’t have a bunch of family working together.

5. Every gov. employee eligible for retirement is now retired, thank you for your service.

6. Automatic 10% reduction in overall federal work force, (except Military). Suject to further cuts.

7. Immediate hiring freeze.

8. All gov employees including congress and the senate fly coach. Any one caught flying on a private jet for business or pleasure, even if they own the jet, will be censured, fined, fired or put to death. lol

The civil service needs to be completely eliminated at local, state and federal levels. Lazy ass government employees need to produce or be fired. They need to live by the same rules as the private sector. If anything, government employment should be limited to 12 years, local, state and federal government employment combined. It should be a prerequisite that all government employees have a minimum of 10 years of private sector employment prior to working in government. There should be zero pensions or retirement plans for government employees. Public service unions should be outlawed.

Lazy ass government employees are the enemy. They can correct their reputations and contribute to society only by working in the private sector.

The only way for a president of the U.S. to actually enact his policies, is to be able to replace the administrative state. Bureaucrats who are not elected, yet are able to make policy that thwarts a president’s policy. By making them a special class, they lose the job security that they currently enjoy, meaning they can be fired easier than it currently is to do so.

civil servants are 100% people who serve themselves first. You know how you can tell? The believe they are entitled to their jobs for some abstract reason that doesn’t include performs at or above requirements. When you have a job you can’t be fired from, even when caught looking at child porn (which has actually happened in the federal civil service) why would you consider yourself a servant of anything except yourself?

Bwahahaha!

Civil servants (yeah, right) ARE ALREADY political hacks.

And so are, even much more, DNCMedia jour-NO-lists.

the idea of replacing them is unthinkable. These civil servants are al least as impartial and apolitical as dan rather was as a DNC mouthpiece.

I read wreaking havoc as a positive thing. I prefer that the current hacks and GS incompetants are removed. Reduction of government intrusion is a big positive. Most of the waste I have seen is government driven.

"Political hacks"? Heavens! And it's been so refreshing to have an administration completely free of political hacks...

“Let’s be honest and clear. Government employees do not produce anything. Most have protected employment and cannot be fired. They are a drag on the economy and costs every hardworking American taxpayer in the private sector.”

I have been saying this for years. In addition, there is NO good, moral or logical reason and justification for ANY of these employees (not workers) to be permitted to belong to any kind of “labor organization” or union, what-so-ever.

#1 should be to outlaw government unions. Those bastards are negotiating against us, their supposed “masters.”
