West Michigan’s 3rd District Republican Congressional primary pits the incumbent, Rep. Peter Meijer against John Gibbs. Gibbs has been endorsed by former president Donald Trump.
Meijer was sworn in to the 117th Congress as a freshman on January 3, 2021. Three days later, a Pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol attempting to disrupt the Electoral College vote count certifying Democrat Joe Biden as President.
Meijer represents Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District. He was in the Capitol when rioters breached the chamber.
For Meijer, a U.S. Army Reserve veteran deployed to Iraq in 2010, former President Trump’s actions -- and inactions – displayed a lack of leadership. The freshman Republican from Grand Rapids was one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump.
“I’ll be honest, this is something I agonized over,” Meijer said.
Shortly after his vote to impeach, Meijer said he considered the timing, due process and political ramifications. Ultimately, he said, it was a vote of conscience.

Whenever a politician claims he made a “vote of conscience,” what he is REALLY saying is “I did what I thought at the time would get me some lamestream media love, and it backfired, and now I’m fixing to get my ass whooped in the primary.”
For you young whipper-snappers out there, Butt Man dressed up as a cigarette butt and followed George HW Bush everywhere on the campaign trail. I forget the issue -- I think the Rats were trying to tie republicans to easy access for cigs to minors. But Butt Man was on the news nearly every night.
This Meijer POS needs to be followed by people in chains and in a mock prison, and they should yell at the top of their lungs what he thinks about the J6 prisoners rotting in a DC dungeon for a year and a half without any charges being brought. He should be asked point blank if he thinks those people were "insurrectionists" and if what happened on J6 was an "insurrection."
And his district has changed to more Democratic because of the CHEAT ALGORITHM applied to the damned CENSUS, which they claim is now TOO LATE to change! My God! How much more are the republican squishes going to take? They don't fight worth a damn! I pray to God that the primaries flush these RINO traitors out.

Trump endorsed a rino in Michigan. He doesn’t do the legwork. Decisions are made on if they have $$$ in the bank and if they are incumbent. He does not choose grassroots. Moolenaar is a prime example. Norton is a much more solid choice as a congressman.
