Good luck seeing any truth with that viewpoint.
Russians are firing antiquated Kh-22 missiles from the 1960s at Ukrainian cities. When they don't hit the intended target, the Russians just say the target was military. Regards
Russia is relying on Cold War-era missiles with 'severe' risks to civilians as Putin's forces have run out of modern weapons, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) claimed.

“And I’m still interested in finding out why the CIA took lead on an investigation that should have been the jurisdiction of the NTSB.”
The FBI took the lead, not the CIA. And that alone raised some red flags. I understand the suspicions, as they are common after such incidents; putting the FBI in charge of the investigation just encouraged such suspicions.
“There is no such thing as a sub launched SAM. Think about it.”
It wasn’t my term; I was just responding to it. However, the SAM label has been so bastardized that it now refers to any projectile launched at or below the surface to strike an airborne target. Kind of like the term “assault rifle” has been bastardized.
Anyway, I imagine any AA missile fired from a sub would require the deck to be above water, which kind of defeats the purpose of a sub (to hide-and-seek). Still, subs are definitely threatened by certain aircraft, such as helicopters designated for ASW.
But your point is well taken, and reinforces my argument that the TWA flight was not brought down by a sub-launched missile, regardless of its term.

Agreed.
FYI
Russia now says they struck the port of Odessa.
They say they were aiming at “military targets”.
Plausible, but their denial yesterday indicates the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, undermining all credibility.
“Plausible, but their denial yesterday indicates the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, undermining all credibility.”
Which has been one of their problems all along, and is a reason why so many question anything coming out of Russia or from its various mouthpieces.
Indeed, Ukraine learned its propaganda trade direct from the master, the USSR.
“Indeed, Ukraine learned its propaganda trade direct from the master, the USSR.”
Nay. The Russians and the Nazis were not even pikers.
The pinnacle of information warfare for the entire span of human existence, has been achieved by the US Dept of State and CIA in collaboration with the Western media complex.
Only the devil his own self is better.
You’re kind of clueless aren’t you? Plenty of US subs have had Stingers and other SAM types mounted in their sails/towers for 30+ years. It’s not news.
Hate to say it just comes off as yet another Russian lie.
“You’re kind of clueless aren’t you? Plenty of US subs have had Stingers and other SAM types mounted in their sails/towers for 30+ years. It’s not news.”
I have ridden 3 boats.
Never once saw a SAM.
A MANPAD is not a SAM. A SAM requires fire control and radar.
No US sub has a SAM aboard.
Most Attack Boats have a couple of manpads.
“I have ridden 3 boats.”
And all three very likely had either canister launched AIM or something else in a vertical tube on the sail typically aft of the masts.
It was a dumb idea, tested then abandoned.
It puts the sub at risk for no benefit.
Gotta go with Mariner on this one. Twenty-four years navy. Only road a sub for three days and wouldn’t want to ever again. (The hull popping noises while diving are just plain creepy.) But I was heavily involved with ASW and if there was any such thing as a sub based SAM threat, I am pretty sure I would have heard something about it. Subs best tactic against air cover is to run silent and deep. And US subs are all ‘silent’.
I gotta proof read more.
“Only (rode) a sub for three days and wouldn’t want to ever again.”
I got to take rides on subs a bit more frequently. Kept my nose out of the places where it wasn’t welcomed and I was endlessly impressed with the quality of the mess. IMHO the USS Toledo had the very best coffee on the planet. Never had it as good ever since.
We are not a democracy or a republic. We are an oligarchy where the power is top down. They appease us with lies.
“They had no business invading Ukraine. “
Then you didn’t follow what happened in 2014 and since or even since 1992.
“No US soldiers or bombs touched Cuban soil”
We did, however, invade their airspace, blockaded shipping, and threatened land invasions. All were acts of war.
