Also, the common usage test would go out the window.

Most 9mm semi-auto pistols are targeted to 10 to 17 rds in the magazine. If you have a pistol with a long grip to accommodate the higher capacity mag, you might not be able to use a lower capacity. Case in point, I was in search of a mag for my 10mm 1911 pistol. It's a full size model. I spotted a 10mm 1911 mag at the local shop and purchased it. Upon return home (50 miles from the shop), I unbagged the magazine and did a check to ensure it fit. It didn't latch. Too short. It was built for a Compact 1911. The lower capacity magazine did not reach deep enough into the grip well to latch and position the rounds for loading. I make a weekly trip, so exchanging the short one for the correct one was no big deal. To the point about HR1808, it will be illegal to buy, sell, manufacture or transfer a magazine big enough to fit your handguns with larger capacity magazines if this bill makes it through.

2nd problem. Ruger makes a version of the 22LR pistol with a threaded muzzle. It is done precisely to fit a suppressor. My wife owns both the pistol and suppressor, but we are still waiting on the ATF stamp to take possession of the suppressor. Her .22LR semi-auto pistol gets lumped into the category of banned "assault weapons".

The whole bill is just nuts. The Dems had a majority on the committee, so no problem putting into Pelosi's hands to attempt a vote. There are a few Dems who realize a yes vote is a double edge sword. It may cost them a re-election. If your House Rep is a Dem, put the pressure on to vote no. Actually, if you have a House Rep from either party, put the pressure on to vote no. It is better to defeat this now, than risk going to the Senate with a bunch of linguine spikes RINOs happy to vote with the Dems.
