Former President Donald Trump endorsed former Navy SEAL Eli Crane for Congress, who is running in the Republican primary for Arizona’s Second Congressional District in August, hoping to then take on Rep. Tom O’Halleran (D-AZ) in November.
“Eli Crane has my Complete and Total Endorsement,” Trump emphasized in his endorsement of the Republican candidate. “Eli Crane is running for Congress in the Great State of Arizona. Eli is a retired Navy SEAL and successful businessman who
proudly served and loves our incredible, but seriously under siege, Country.”
The former president emphasized that in Congress, Crane “will Fight for Election Integrity, Secure the Border, Support our Military and Vets, and Defend the Second Amendment.” In addition to saying that, Crane, as Arizona’s Second Congressional District Republican Nominee, will defeat O’Halleran.
Trump, in his statement, explained that O’Halleran is not only a “puppet” of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) but is a “disgrace to the people of Arizona” because he is “weak” on issues important to the former president, such as Border, Second Amendment, and Election Integrity.
In response to Trump’s endorsement of Crane, he said exclusively to Breitbart News, “President Trump is still the most respected and revered political leader in Arizona. He transformed the Republican party from a reactive group focused on managing the decline of America to a proactive, offensive-minded party focused on making America great again. That is why I am so honored to have his full confidence and endorsement for Congress in AZ 02.”

In a previous interview with Breitbart News, Crane explained that he would like to tackle election integrity as one of his core issues in Congress.

“I do believe that a emphasis on election integrity must be paramount in our efforts to conserve this democratic Republic that we were given,” Crane told Breitbart New’s Kristina Wong in November. “It blows my mind to see everything throughout the course of history that mankind has been willing to do for power, to include mass murder, genocide, subjugation, et cetera. But we as Americans see our government through such rosy lenses that we’re incapable of believing that, that same type of evil it’s possible here.”
Tuscon.
That is going to be a tough one.
McSally’s old seat but the district is just a bit weird/POTUS. Went big for Bush in ‘04. Romney barely won on ‘12. Hillary barely won in ‘16 and Biden got 55%. What it tells me is they like squishes, not Trump.
I do not think so.
This is the huge north and east AZ district.
But Thump endorsement in AZ seems kind of odd.
Harold Blackman would be my choice here.
This district was, amazingly, moved solidly to the right in redistricting and is now something like R+8 which makes it the 3rd most favorable to the GOP in the state. It was marginal before, but now it really isn’t. The worst parts of Tucson aren’t included here.
Despite his incumbency, the ultra-liberal O’Halleran should be an easy casualty (he’s way out of touch with this district) unless some uninspiring squish actually does win the Republican nomination.
I just hope President Trump does not endorse the former Navy Seal here in Missouri. That would be a dumb move on his part. Eric Greitens set up the Democrats with a 24/7 campaign when Greitens put out his stupid RINO hunting ad. His “I’m a Navy Seal. I’ve got big black guns. I’m a leader” schtick is tiring. He lacks political sense in this climate to put an ad like that out.
The new CD-2 covers much of rural Arizona, including much of Yavapai County. This district moves to the Republicans’ favor and should be an relatively easy flip.
I’m voting for Walt Blackman. He said he was at the Trump rally yesterday despite the non-endorsement.
I wish that Trump had paid more attention in Pa before he endorsed Oz, the only candidate who MAY lose to Uncle Festerman.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
squishes was all that ran before trump and buydin cheated & trump won in 2020
I've organized a couple of candidate forums at Chilleen’s on 17 in Black Canyon City. There are several good candidates for CD2. Eli isn't a bad guy, from what I can tell, but he doesn't even live close to the district. Eli is supposed to speak at Chilleen’s on 7/25. Hope he shows. He has a ways to drive.
*I wish that Trump had paid more attention in Pa before he endorsed Oz, the only candidate who MAY lose to Uncle Festerman.*
Oz has a net worth of $100 million per Wikipedia. Festerman has $9 million in contributions while Oz has one and a half. If Oz really wants the seat he should buy it. Too many questions to make him worthy of our $$.
Rick Scott is in charge of taking the senate and he went on Fox pleading for contributions.
If Festerman croaks the day before the election what happens?
“If Festerman croaks the day before the election what happens?”
He’ll still be on the ballot, and the new Governor gets to name the replacement. (Assuming Oz loses)

Same thing happened in Missouri about 20 years ago. John Ashcroft ran against one of the Carnahans, who died about 3 weeks before the election. Carnahan won, and the governor appointed his widow.
Ashcroft wouldn’t contest that close election as I recall. That’s why we lose.
