After former Trump adviser Steve Bannon was found guilty Friday of contempt of Congress, attorney and former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz was on Newsmax complaining about the jury, calling the conviction “entirely in violation of the Constitution,” and predicting that a higher court will “very likely” overturn it. “The only provision of the Constitution, which appears basically twice, is trial by jury in and in front of a fair jury. Number one, he didn’t have a fair jury. Number two, the judge took his defenses away from him,” claimed Dershowtiz. Bannon’s legal team chose not to call a single witness in his defense.

I appreciate the article.
Hope Dersh is correct
I hope Dershowitz is right.
A higher court should overturn this.
And then this judge should be impeached.
The process is the punishment.
FYI ping
Aren’t we all 2nd amendment supporters?
Absolutely. The Demoncrats thrive on this crayola
> The process is the punishment.
Legal fees alone have got to be pretty steep.
We are in Stalinist show trial territory now.
It is conceivable that our Constitutional rights and protections may not prevail.
I read FR a lot but I don’t get this. What does it mean, please?
Gif looks like “the answer my friend is blowin in the wind.”
I’m sure it’s not.
By the way, within a day of Bob Dylan first performing that song in Greenwich Village, his contemptuous rivals already were satirizing “the answer my friend is blowing out his end.”
The pants are, my friend, They’re blowing in the wind, The pants they are blowing in the wind.
It’s a common image on Conservative Treehouse.
Why would he even try to defend himself against a rigged, kangaroo court?
A higher court should overturn this.
And then this judge should be electrocuted
dersh and turley are democrats
but when it comes to the law they are straight shooters
claimed Dershowtiz.

Claimed.
Not “ stated”.
Oh no.
” claimed”
Spin weasels.
The jury is a trier of fact - did Bannon defy the subpoena? Of course he did and he didn't even contest it. The jury couldn't have decided otherwise.
The questions of the legitimacy of the committee and the validity of the subpoena are legal ones for the appeals court to resolve. No way a jury is qualified to rule on them.
