Opposing America Last policies and recognizing that marriage should be between one man and one woman can be done simultaneously.

Our grid system is not currently able to handle a huge increase in ev charging, on fast chargers or whole neighborhoods.

More places are getting rid of gas heat and appliances. More major items to only use electric.

We have already had stories of when power geepneration is taxed they beg ev owners not to charge their cars.

This is about control. And regular people losing more of it over their daily lives.

“Duh. Anyone with half a brain cell saw this YEARS ago.”

American industrial planning is done by the quarter. The manager or CEO who spent investment money in the billions to create a fab when we could still buy the chips for a few bucks each would be out of work before the first check was written. Business largely doesn’t look that far ahead simply because the top-level bonuses are by the quarter and when a chip shortage would be problematic the guys who might have built a fab here will be long retired and sipping champagne on their yachts.

Every vehicle, not just EVs.

It’s hard to believe, but 50 years ago (maybe only 40), there were zero chips in cars. Maybe we can do that again.

Like the answer to most other questions like yours is...

(Drum roll please)

Big government!!!

You have won cold dark winter nights and scorching hot summer days! In addition to these worthless prizes you also will get an extra 30 seconds of electrical power added to your daily alotment of 30 minutes!

Keep peddling your power generation bike because there’s more!!

You get an extra slice of bacon a month!!

Oh wait. I’m sorry our judges have ruled your question was not woke or gender neutral enough. You lose it all and 50 social points.

All those Russian ballistic missiles raining on Ukraine will change a lot of investment decisions. Risky now to invest billions in facilities unless you’ve got a nuclear umbrella above protecting them.

Chip makers are threatening to scrap future US factories without generous tax breaks.

The world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers—Intel, Samsung, and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC)—have all announced plans to build new chip factories in the US. Everyone is bragging about those plans: American lawmakers say bringing chip manufacturing back onto US soil will strengthen national security, while the chip makers, chastened by this year’s disastrous semiconductor shortage, are diversifying their supply chains to avoid future crises.

But there’s one problem: Who will pay?

Intel, Samsung, and TSMC have all threatened to pull the plug on their US factory plans unless government subsidies are on the table. Company executives claim that if they don’t get a rich package of incentives and tax breaks, they’ll build their semiconductor factories elsewhere, effectively ending American ambitions to return chip manufacturing to its shores after ceding the bulk of the market to Taiwan in the 1990s.…

If you start today, the first production chip will be out in 3-6 years. Not saying we shouldn’t do it, but pointing out that for that period of time we’d be screwed. You can’t just wave a wand and have production start instantly - especially in our red-tape-snarled modern era.

See my post 20.
We used to, like televisions.
But CA, EPA, and off-shore GREED destroyed our critical infrastructure manufacturing capability.

Ya know...after all these type of stories, it’s like a lot too late folks. Our “superiors” knew way more then we did and led us into this. Yeah.

True....but I don’t own a chip making facility. If I did it’d be here.
