More than 880 Detroiters who applied for the city’s municipal ID program may have had their personal information exposed to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The Detroit ID program was launched in 2016 to provide photo identification for city residents regardless of citizenship status. Immigration advocates say the program’s vendor sells data to credit agencies, which shares the information with ICE.
The city used a company called MoCaFi to run the Detroit ID program. Christine Sauvé, a chair of Detroit’s immigration task force, says MoCaFi has a working relationship with the government.
“They share data with clearinghouses that are accessible to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE,” stated Sauvé.
Detroit City Councilmember Gabriela Santiago-Romero believes the program puts Detroiters at risk.
“This should have never happened in the first place,” Santiago-Romero says. “We’re asking for there to be corrective action and for there to be true collaborative working relationships with the immigration task force and our members moving forward.”
Seydi Sarr is part of Detroit’s Immigration Task Force. She says while the Detroit ID program has been paused, the city has compromised the safety of undocumented residents.

No other country, not even the ‘refugee’ magnets in Europe even DEBATES allowing government officials to keep them hidden from immigration authorities. And no other country has local authorities who would even think of protecting illegals from immigration authorities.
At the very least, literally EVERY civilized country in the world wants to at least know who is in the country, even when they don’t have the political will to deport those there illegally.
The fact that we allow this crap without arresting the mayors, governors, and others shows just how far we’ve fallen.
After November, we need to start legislating against sanctuary cities when it comes to immigration laws, their enforcement, and status as an illegal immigrant, requiring state and local police cooperation in the apprehension of same, charged with other crimes or not. If someone is in the U.S. illegally, then that’s it; states and localities cannot be allowed to shield illegals from federal authorities; to me it amounts to blatant “insurrection”.

1) for our own good
2) for food distribution
3) to enable electronic world currency distribution
4) to ensure compliance
5) to identify Global Citizens
666) for ‘Peace and Security’
We need to fight back eith “sanctuary cities/states of our own. Ie...a CONSTITUTIONAL sanctuary city...etc

Why do they need ID’s?
Hiring MoCaFi to run the Detroit ID program was obviously a mistake. FeeFiFoFum was available at a lower price and does far superior work.
