Many countries are ramping up coal to keep up with rising energy demands.

Even some EU countries that were otherwise planning to exit coal usage are now seeing an increase in production and fossil-powered energy generation.

...

Despite the best efforts to the contrary, short-term global reliance on coal has only increased... energy is getting harder and harder to come by, and most countries are falling back on reliable .. sources.

Energy Issues Have Left Many Nations with No Other Choice..

In the US, coal production has risen significantly from last year... production is up 6%..

...

China, too, has ramped up coal production

...

European Union (EU), facing a possible curtailment in gas supply from Russia, recently received the green light from Brussels to increase its use of coal over the next decade. The European Commission estimated that 5% more coal would be used. However, that figure could shoot higher ...

With Russia Out of the Picture, EU Countries Are Desperate for Coal.

...

the current demand for coal is so strong that even the Taliban Government in Afghanistan has hiked the price from US $90 to $200 per ton. The move came after Pakistan evinced interest in importing Afghan coal. The news came much to the discomfort of China, where some energy firms threatened a blockade of Afghan coal imports and exports.

...

Germany, Austria, France, and the Netherlands recently announced plans to enable increased coal power generation in the likelihood that Russia halts its gas supplies.

...

Beijing .. 60% power requirement comes from coal.

India : Citing the coal supply shortage and high power consumption, the Coal Ministry on 7 July said it is mulling to start production of 12 new coal mines by 2022- end. Currently, a total of 36 captive and commercial mines are under production.

Nukes are the only real “Green” energy.
Well, nukes, geothermal, and hydroelectric.
But geothermal means you have to live near a volcano, and hydroelectric means damming up a river.
So more nukes, fewer bird choppers and bird roasters.

Tucker had some dingbat on a video last night, bragging about the new EV some city had bought. Someone asked where the power to charge it came from and she answered “From the building!”. Pressed further, she deferred to the Electric Company Spokesman present who rather awkwardly said “From coal”.

Hilarious! These people are just stupid.

Nuke waste can be burned in fast breeder reactors. And the freak won’t be there forever.
Problem is, every change in administration brings a change in policy. They can’t build nukes because by the time they finish the paperwork to build a nuke, a new administration is rescinding their permission.
There needs to be a way to create a multi-administration permission, so that one administration can stop a pipeline or powerplant another administration authorized.

Agree...However, there is such a thing as Clean Coal Technology. Here's a link:

Clean Coal Technology

My guess is that instead of investing in Clean Coal Technology, the EU bought Solar and Windmills. Therefore, the coal they will be burning this winter will be dirty coal.

Coal-fired powerplants are not really that dirty if you can remove the oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, the particules and the heavy metals from the exhaust. In fact, the filtered out material (coal fly ash) can be used in cement and concrete production.

And nukes leave a waste product that no one knows how to deal with or are unwilling to deal (NIMBY) with.

Even one of the greenest countries Japan, announced ramping up their coal ( and NG), guess what? They get all their coal from Russia, and most NG from Russia’s Sahkhalin Peninsula- and Vlad says Checkmate again, and again. The Biden boot licking team and Ukie cheerleaders never did their homework.

It appears the West is getting what they deserve by following a corrupted, senile old man’s agenda.
