Trump Blasts Democrats, 'RINOs' for Electoral College Certification Hypocrisy

Former President Donald Trump blasted Democrats and "RINOS" (Republicans In Name Only) for hypocrisy regarding the process of certifying Electoral College votes.

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators on Wednesday introduced two bills aimed at reforming a long-standing election law that entered the spotlight after 2020 presidential election.

One bill aims to clarify the role of the vice president and stating he or she has no discretion over the results. Trump, saying there had been voter fraud in several key battleground states, had insisted Vice President Mike Pence could halt certification of the Electoral College results that gave Joe Biden the victory.

"So the Democrats, RINOS, and almost ALL others said that Mike Pence, or any V.P., had absolutely no right to do anything but send the 'Votes' to the Old Broken Crow, Mitch McConnell, even if they were fraudulent, corrupt, or highly irregular," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

"The V.P. was merely a 'human conveyor belt' and could do nothing. BUT NOW, the DEMS & RINOS are working to pass a Bill that stops the V.P. from doing what he was not allowed, according to them, to do. It was all a 'Big Lie.' Should have sent back to States!"

Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, spearheaded the efforts to reform the 1887 Electoral Count Act.

"The Electoral Count Act does need to be fixed," Senate Minority Leader McConnell, R-Ky., told reporters Tuesday.

A second piece of legislation would double federal penalties for those who threaten or intimidate election workers, poll watchers, voters, or candidates. It also seeks to improve the handling of mail-in ballots by the U.S. Postal System and states, authorize the federal agency that administers elections and safeguard election records.

The 16 senators involved in the talks about the election legislation said they had set out to

That does not sound good.

More generic B.S laws. Does the congress define what happened in 2020 to poll watchers being intimidated in Michigan, PA for example? We’re there problems with how the postal service handled mail in ballots? What problems are you trying to fix? Liars, All!

It’s an illegal power grab. What were thr problems with handling mail in ballots that they are trying to fix. It was previously defined as the most secure election ever.

I love Trump, but show me where under the constitution the VP has any leeway. We either live by the constitution or we ignore it and do what we think is right like the democrats do.

Maybe this was a time to ignore it. But let’s be honest - it would have been an extra-constitutional move, just like inaugurating a person who is not a natural born citizen. Where does the slippery slope begin, and do we live under the rule of law or not?

The VP only has authority to preside over the count - both in the Constitution and by law. Period. End of discussion. There can be no excuse for this ignorance of the Constitution and of the statutes governing this process. It isn't exactly unambiguous or up for debate. The language is quite plain and clear.

And where does this "send them to McConnell" come from? They didn't and don't get sent to McConnell.

It doesn't exist. There is no mechanism of "send it back to the States", either. It also makes no sense since the States are the ones that sent the Electoral votes there to begin with...Congress doesn't receive them unilaterally.

This all begs the question:

WHAT CAN ONE DO IN THE FACE OF BLATANT, PERVASIVE FRAUD IN AN ELECTION THAT CAN INFLUENCE A MAJOR CALAMNITY IF LEFT TO GO INTO EFFECT?

Answer: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Just sit back and take it. After all, you don’t want to wind up like those Jan 6ers, do you?

If this becomes law it will make it illegal for Democrat operatives to forcefully remove Republican poll watchers in Philadelphia -— but of course it would never be used against Democrats - only against Republicans.

The Election Count Act, frequently thought to be unconstitutional since enacted in 1887, was enacted mostly to excuse and support the 'multiple wrongs didn't make a right' election of 1876. The one where Hayes (R) was proclaimed President over Tilden (D) by an extraconstitutional committee and under the table deal. Which the openly racist Democrats accepted in exchange for an end to Reconstruction and being able to Jim Crow the blacks for nearly a century. The Democrat's had actively suppressed constitutional voting by blacks through out the South. Thus stealing the submitted electoral votes of some states they controlled. Republicans tried to disqualify and steal back some of them through extraconstitutional actions of their own, resulting in essential tie. Because the 4 years earlier GOP supra-majority in the House had been wiped out in the subsequent midterm reaction to the corrupt GOPe, the GOP knew that constitutionally throwing the tie to the House, per the 12th, would ensure Tilden winning. So they invented a plan 'C' to maintain their corrupt power, in exchange for ceding the South back to the Democrats as a racist fiefdom.

The nine anti-Trump 'bipartisan' RINO senators supporting this action (Mitch isn't officially signed on, but would presumably provide the 60th filibuster busting vote) are trying to defend and reinforce the steal of 2020. It can no more overturn the the real constitutional powers of state legislators and the procedures enshrined in the 12th, than the 1887 bill (they'd need an Amendment) but they hope it can provide propaganda cover with those too naive to undertand the truth as stated by John Eastman.

BUT NOW, the DEMS & RINOS are working to pass a Bill that stops the V.P. from doing what he was not allowed, according to them, to do.

EXACTLY! If he couldn't do it then there would be no need to change anything.
Because the VP CAN do it is why they want the law changed.
They got blindsided through their ignorance and almost lost.
