NEW YORK (AP) — Former Vice President Mike Pence is becoming increasingly brazen in his willingness to counter former President Donald Trump.
The two will hold dueling events in Arizona on Friday as they stump for rival candidates who offer dramatically different visions of the Republican Party in a critical battleground state. Days later, they will once again cross paths as they deliver major speeches on the same day in Washington, D.C.
The encounters mark a more confrontational phase in the fraught relationship between the former running mates and once close confidantes who could soon find themselves competing against one another in the 2024 GOP presidential primary if they both ultimately choose to run.
“I think this is a continuation of the larger message that Pence is trying to embody here, which is the Republican Party should look to the future,” said Scott Jennings, a longtime party strategist. “This is going to be the existential question for the Republican Party: Are we going to listen to a slightly different view than Donald Trump’s? Right now, the standard-bearer for this is Mike Pence.”

Do these GOP establishment idiots like Scott Jennings actually know what’s going on in their own damn party among the rank and file voters? Of course they do but they’re in total denial about it. The vast majority of GOP voters are rejecting them. If the GOP had actually forwarded the conservative agenda with action rather than lip service, and stood up to the left instead of cozying up to them, then there would of never been a Donald Trump presidency. The GOP establishment’s inaction and cowardice in defending this nation against the leftist assault on it made GOP voters look elsewhere for leadership and the rise of Trump possible!

Desantis was never an establishment favorite. Look how the establishment criticized him for going after Disney (“it’s a private company! Leave them alone! Republicans are supposed to cater to private big businesses, not challenge them!”)
Desantis’s strength is with rank and file voters like me, who support the MAGA agenda and are disappointed that Trump has a habit of undermining that agenda by appointing people who oppose it.
This is probably why Lindseed Graham supports Trump over Desantis - he has learned that RINOs can manipulate Trump by playing to his ego

Who, despite horrific 24/7/365 obstacles, spent four years MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
Pence appeared to learn NOTHING during those four years!
He probably was an anti-Trump Republican, who was secretly doing the Establishment’s bidding and holding Trump back and undermining his efforts!
