Lake Mead ? It’s been drying up and boats can now get to the base of the dam. There’s a guy on YouTube that records the water dropping by feet per week. The water turbines are just below the surface and there was talk of shutting them down because of the water level. Maybe they got some help.

Wasn’t there a fertilizer plant fire somewhere earlier this morning?
Lots of bad stuff can happen when you’re allowing an invasion by foreigners.
It’s absolutely something down on the bottom. It appears not to be anything structural. It would suck to lose the generators…especially if you are trying to charge your car…in the desert.

I’ve seen transformers blow like that. It can get real hot..real fast.
Lot’s of black smoke. Looks like a electrical or equipment fire.
The Colorado River isn’t doing too well and Lake Mead is very low. And odd accidents happen. Then again- plenty of 1) crazy and 2) evil people around...
I suppose but that was a fairly large boom. The black smoke suggested petroleum like in a transformer, but after decades of operation, this? Seems there have been lots of infrastructure disaster in the past year; food production, petroleum, electricity generation an distribution, etc.
That building is where the hydroelectric generator turbines are. I’m wondering how water powered spools of copper explode like that. It’s worked like a champ for 85 years.
Could be a transformer fire, switchgear failure, generator failure or circuit breaker failure.
