“10 BCF last year.

14 BCF this year.

20 BCF by 2027.”

Units: BCF should be BCM.

By comparison, how much does RuZZia send to China?

From Bloomberg:

“Since Russia’s pipeline gas supplies to China started in late 2019, shipments have been increasing steadily, due to reach at least 15 billion cubic meters in 2022, compared with 10.4 billion cubic meters delivered last year. “

So Azerbaijan is sending nearly s much nat gas to EU as RuZZia sends to China.

10 BCM in 2021
15 BCM in 2022.

True enough, but it can’t cover the shortfall in time for the fall and winter.

BTW Russia has one gas pipeline from Siberia going to Northern China. There are “forever” plans to build another pipeline. I know of no construction being done on it.

It seems to me that most Russ to China gas exports are done via LNG ships. Russia has two major LNG export terminals. One is on Sakhalin Island. China has 20 LNG intake terminals. One is in Guangdong where the manufacturing is done. This is where China really needs Russian natural gas to be.

Who pays to compress and chill the LNG? The Russians do and they don’t mind. They have natural gas coming out their ears. Natural gas to use to compress/chill the ship born LNG. At the Chinese end no energy needs to be expended. They just open up the valves to let the LNG flow out.
