“my kids” - right there is the problem. They aren’t “your kids”. The classroom is not a platform to influence kids with your personal ideologies. Why are they allowed to? How is this not practicing psychiatry without a license?

I get your point and agree with what follows, but every teacher I know, including myself, refers to his or her students as ‘my kids’.
