Wow, a “none of the above” election for Tory leadership.

Time bends and stalls when you’re in the parallel universe of a Liz Truss speech. She leaves audiences begging for a lethal injection. I know The Guardian is a left-wing rag, but that's pretty funny.

yeah, that’s what I thought. That’s actually one of the heartening things about what we call democracy... there’s some pretty good humor on both sides.

Ah, Jeb wouldn’t have been so bad... I’m sure he wouldn’t have had too many ideas, but we would’ve got through it... he doesn’t look like a real pygmy to me, and these candidates kinda do...

The Guardian is usually terrible, but they have a couple good writers.

“Where’s Winston Churchill when we really need him?”
...be funny if we dug him up and cloned him, due to our depression at the lack of real leadership, and found that his clone was only interested in music...

Truss was actually quite good during the zoom debate...she had a good opening statement, had some good ideas about lowering taxes as the way to stimulate the economy, and wasn’t boring.
The only time she sounded strident (imo) was when she was talking about foreign policy...which is ironic considering she’s the current foreign secretary.
She’s not my favorite candidate but I found myself agreeing with her more often than not.

Well, I’m glad it’s not as bad as the Guardian thinks it will be.

Heh. Jacob Rees-Mogg may be correct that she's actually a decent conservative, but if her speaking style is anything like this article claims, she's a non-starter in the leadership race.
I'll be shocked if the British "Conservatives" pick an ACTUAL conservative this time around, or even someone to the right of 0bama.
