I agree with a long-gone preacher: People need to be offended until they can’t be offended any more!
And during that entire period (which may never actually end), they will vote for the people who will make things worse instead of better.
Maybe there is some emotional satisfaction that comes from offending people. But I'd rather win critical elections than drunken high-five my buddies because some people got offended.
