My guess: The Chinese were trying to come up with a plague where they had the vaccine ready but they needed American expertise. Unfortunately, it got out before they were ready.
The amazing thing is that it was much deadlier in China. I have connections to Wuhan and people were dropping dead everywhere. It was the worst kind of virus to set loose in that country.

Some of the stories out of China in the beginning were awful, people being locked in apartment buildings. Did you hear anything about that?
