The difference is that people in Vintsa are killed by the incompetent use of SAMs. In Donetsk they are killed deliberately.

Another way of looking at it is, Donetsk is a civil war situation where half the region wanted to be in Russia and the other half didn’t. In civil wars, they clash.

Even the Donbas Human Rights Ombudsman (on the side of the separatists) conceded that it was bidirectional.

Russia expanded the theater of war to Kherson, and again it’s to be expected that the fighting will go in both directions.

The city that was attacked yesterday is over 400 kilometres from the conflict, and isn’t in a contested Oblast.

The building Margareta Simonyan said was the primary target is the House Of Officers, a Soviet Union era concert hall that’s hosted numerous Russian musicians. It is currently used for children’s dance classes, school orchestras, and support groups for families with disabled children.

She said Russian military officials told her the building was being used by “Nazis”.

I notice that whenever Russia makes such a claim like that, without providing a shred of proof, NOBODY on the pro Putin side ever says “show me the evidence” but if the Ukes accuse Russia of doing something there is literally no level of incontestible proof that’s good enough. 360 degree smartphone footage, CCTV from over 30 different angles, footage from inside the restaurant and other populated zones, they buy this crap from the Russian propaganda mill’s “Daily Operational Meeting”:

“On 14 July, Kalibr high-precision sea-based missiles hit the building of the garrison house of officers in the city of Vinnytsia.”

The fact it’s NOT a military building at all wasn’t mentioned.

“At the time of the strike, a meeting of the command of the Ukrainian air force with representatives of foreign arms suppliers was held at this military facility on the issues of transferring the next batch of aircraft and weapons to the armed forces of Ukraine, as well as organising the repair of the Ukrainian aviation fleet.”

I call bullshit. There’s a thing called Zoom for that. Why the hell would they conduct a meeting like that in a concert hall? And if foreign firms were there, one might suppose there’d be representatives with ties to governments.

“As a result of the strike, the meeting participants were destroyed.”
