“Jeez you are a one note Wilma”
The facts can be played in the key of historic truth.
We look to authentic history, look at the past to see what is possible to honor what has happened before and bring an opportunity of awareness for true historical value now in the present. Every generation needs to know the truth: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” i.e.: State of the Union Address, 1941.
In his State of the Union Address, Franklin Roosevelt informed Congress of America’s responsibility to be concerned with Europe’s current conflict, the beginning stages of World War II, and the danger their allies’ assailants pose to the United States.
*Roosevelt stated: “we engaged in the War of 1812 to vindicate our right to peaceful trade, it is NEVERTHELESS CLEAR that NEITHER FRANCE NOR GREAT BRITAIN, nor any other nation, was aiming at DOMINATION of the whole world.” *
**”The American people have unalterably set their faces against that tyranny. Every realist knows that the democratic way of life is at this moment being directly assailed in every part of the world—assailed either by arms, or by secret spreading of poisonous propaganda by those who seek to destroy unity and promote discord in nations that are still at peace.”**
To combat potential threat, President Roosevelt suggests an “increase in armament production,” to be used in defense and/or to be supplied to European allies. Roosevelt says these actions, in addition to solutions for social and economic problems in the U.S. were [and are] vital to preserve our democracy and four essential freedoms for us & people through out the world:
1- Freedom of speech
2- Freedom of worship
3- Freedom from want
4- Freedom from fear
It is possible to dislike F..R. but still respect the sound of historic truth in the melody he shared.
None of which existed in Ukraine, still don’t and won’t ever.
And just who the Hell are you anyway, beating the war drum for this bunch of thugs?
