A neighboring town here in NJ offered the same thing to residents; they could let the police connect to their feeds. Very creepy...

I’m suspicious. I wouldn’t trust it.

IIRC, now it’s possible to track cell phones with the battery removed. Actually, I saw that demonstrated on Stossel (or similar) a few years ago. I think there’s a separate battery in phones that keep the location active.

This will work out well in neighborhoods where snitches tend to get stitches. Residents who bought Ring will now be accused of cooperating with the police.
