Sometimes, PhD means “Doctor of Philosophy”. Sometimes, it means “Piled Higher and Deeper”.
It can be of critical importance to determine which sort of PhD a particular supposed expert has earned.
It must not take much work to become a PhD these days. I think universities are just passing these folks so they don’t get called racists or other really lovely names (sarc) and get sued. Easier to just give them that diploma and let them move on.
