I remember growing up watching the riots in ‘68.
It produced a small group of Americans who grew up to be very conservative.

I went to a high school that had race riots (fights) in the 70’s. It changes one’s perspective.

Indeed it did. I was only 12 when the riots started, but by the mid 60s we saw them every single night on the evening news. I remember as a young teen being thoroughly repulsed by what I saw. Living in upstate New York, we didn’t see anything like that in our towns.

1963 - Birmingham, Alabama
1964 - Harlem, New York City, New York
1965 - Watts (Los Angeles), California
1966 - Chicago, Illinois
1967 - Tampa, Florida ; Cincinnati, Ohio ; Atlanta, Georgia ; Newark, Plainfield, and New Brunswick, New Jersey ; and Detroit, Michigan.
1968 - Riots erupted in more than 110 U.S. cities after MLK was assassinated in April
