REgarding the source I used for my statements about worldwide abortion statistics. I chose the one that said statistics for 2022: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/abortion-rates-by-country
This link had several different segments, some listing highest rates, some lowest rates, etc. I chose numbers from the list at the bottom that had more than a score of countries listed from most to fewest abortions. Upon reading the article again I see that they said it was hard to find most recent figures for a number of countries, as some don’t even keep abortion statistics. At any rate not all statistics are even close to 2022.
Ukraine scored much higher on “freedom indexes” that observed political and civil liberties than Russia did for years prior to Russia’s invasion.
Most of their problems are due to the holdovers from the century of communist Russian rule. Hard to shake it off, but they got a lot better after independence.
It’s up to Ukrainians themselves to decide after the war whether they want to be truly free or not. Just like everybody else.
One thing is for sure. RuSSia sure as hell won’t bring them freedom.
