Ok, saying he is a nut is not helpful. Sorry. But as I already said, he seems to introduce legislation that goes nowhere. It looks a bit like he does it just to grab headlines rather than helping to address the challenges Pennsylvania faces. This state has a lot of potential, but we also have a bunch of organizational problems with the way solutions are structured.
For instance, they are reliant on private contractors to do road repairs. So instead of being able to go to the department that handles xyz repair and say “hey you, get out there and get this done!” they have to contact the contractor, and then they have to work through lawyers and possibly the courts, slowing everything down and driving up costs.
Mastriano has been a publicity seeker, but what we need is a problem solver. I don’t doubt that he is a man with a formidable skill set, but when you tell half the voters that you are in favor of no exception being made for the life of the mother, you basically are telling them to go vote for someone else.
So why is that? Oh yeah, Jake Corman routinely sabotaged it so that he could run for governor himself, and when it did get through, Wolf vetoed it, like THIS on Friday:
Wolf vetoes Mastriano Pennsylvania poll watcher bill
Do you actually expect Wolf to sign ANY legislation into law that Mastriano sponsored or co-sponsored? If not, then what would you have him do in the Senate, with backstabbing Corman and his swamp weasels running the show?
