“Or let’s say one is on some relatively minor social media site or member of a political or firearms forum under an anonymous username and decides not to mention that fact? Would the jackboots be able to discover it on their own?”

Have you ever seen the NSA data center in Utah? Yeah, they will discover it, whatever and wherever it might be. They can’t “discover” vote fraud, they can’t “discover” anything on Hunter’s laptop, they can’t “discover” anything wrong with Hillary’s private (and illegal) mail server, but you can be sure they’ll find every word you ever posted, just as they had no trouble identifying everyone at the Capitol on 1/6, but can’t seem to identify the rioters who tried to burn a police station down with police inside.

Oh yeah, the NSA would undoubtedly be able to find anything anyone’s ever posted on any forum, as you said. But the job of vetting will be done by local (county) LEOs, not the Feds.
