Looks like China gets another colony.
Why would they want it? There's little industry, no raw materials or resources to speak of. If you want to corner the market on coconuts and organic tea, I guess the place has some value.
As a military base, though, it would command the Indian Ocean, as well as India itself, Indonesia, Australia...
