Portland doesn’t have an endless supply of rioters.

It is the same 100 people who have nothing better to do with their lives — hoping to make the “ultimate sacrifice” to make their lives meaningful. It is the same with Seattle. It’s just that their elected representatives can’t figure it out. That is the case for detaining and disciplining such people — rather than releasing them to multiply their crimes.

It’s the same with the homeless situation: if you push them somewhere else, you haven’t solved the homeless problem. Some people need supervision and direction — and not simply more freedom to do whatever turns them on.

While there may be a solid core of 100 or more regular antifa in Portland, they DO have an endless supply of recruits. Portland is Ground Zero for progressive communist indoctrination, and all the young kids who want to do SOMETHING gravitate towards all of these protests. A portion of them who like it enough then become full-time antifa. But make no mistake, antifa has the support of the majority of Portlandians, at least the young ones, even if they don't participate themselves.
