Public Safety Tip: NEVER EVER cut open a Estes model rocket engine, and throw a match on the exposed contents when you are looking down over the thing. I had the experience of singed eyebrows and hair to confirm this warning.
I used to glue the fins right onto the motor.
Made some rocket cars as well.
Never though to cut one open though...
