I hate this overlapping concurrent jurisdiction. There should only be one level of jurisdiction on any given matter. (And no word games, like saying the state charges are for the crime per se, and federal charges are civil rights violations)
It is my hope that someday the supreme court stops this nonsense of trying someone for the same crime at the state and federal levels.
