If Willard the Rat had won in 2012, would Trump have won in 2016 ? No. Instead, you’d have had Hillary (or Zero in a comeback) winning in a landslide that year. Incalculable damage.
Not for Senate seats.
Recall Doug Hoffman ‘09. The RINOs voted Dem to keep him out of Congress. They came back with their own candidate 2 years later ... the Hoffman crowd didn’t vote for him.
Elise now holds the seat
Which NARAL-backed Republican in Connecticut should I be supporting this Nov.?
Can’t win by supporting your adversaries

It’s true. His television talked to him about it.
I recall 2 prolife Dems in my town ... The local Dems town committees threw the election to the Republicans intentionally
Still, aside from a general like Fabius or the Russkies against Napoleon’s army, hard to find any examples in military history where someone wins by losing. Bad, bad strategy.
Remember Jim Leach? Maybe the 2nd most liberal Republican to serve in the House in recent decades. To my surprise, he (despite endorsing Obama) was still a registered Republican until this year. He’s endorsed the rat running against Grassley and the rat running for IA-1.
Used his party registration to claim it was a “bipartisan endorsement” of ultraleft candidates when he ceased to be a Republican long ago.
