My gut tells me background checks are being flubbed on purpose I think it's a case of big government incompetence. Our agencies seemingly ALWAYS have the info, yet flub it up. take 9-11 as an example.

From what I've read, the dad sponsored the underage son to get a FOID card. This was around the time the dad was running for mayor. I wonder if this had any impact by authorities to ignore Illinois red flag laws. Articles suggest the kid was a train wreck around that time..
