I will never understand what the argument was that in anyway justified Sam Brinton being hired by the White House.
There had to be equally qualified people out there, and without all that bizarre baggage.
It would be instructive to know exactly who was pushing this?

They hire these people just to mock common sensibility and get away with it. It is a deliberate sneer at America as we know it.

I think a lot of it is ‘In your face!’ They appoint a man who pretends he’s a woman as assistant surgeon general and then proclaim him to be the first transgender admiral in the Public Health Service. They have a rather ‘flamboyant’ character mince around in the White House to encourage wuhan shots. And now a drag-queen to be in charge of cleaning up nuclear waste.

We’re doing this, you can’t stop us and if you try, we’ll call you bad names.

You have to understand the cult-like thinking of many leftists in Washington DC. Politics and woke ideology is all they know - and they have been able to make a life-long career in the swamp. For them, Brinton's "baggage" is an advantage and political plus. Its not a negative.
