Probably because in the panic and chaos of a mass shooting from a rooftop, the cops are going to be looking for a guy in male clothing, because mass shooters are almost always male-not what appears to be a woman-in female clothing, hair, etc-it is probably why he left the rifle instead if carrying it with him-so he could blend in better with the confusion on the scene and get away-it seems logical-and it worked for several hours, too...

He was very conscious of his looks. In the photos where he stands with Trump supporters, he sticks out like a sore thumb, and it has to be on purpose. Not surprised he would do the opposite when he decided to act.
I agree with your analysis. Your argument has made good points. These are good reasons to take on the disguise of a woman.
But...It is impossible to read a person’s mind. Even if the person verbally or in writing states their motivation those words may be merely manipulation or diversion. The subject may be lying.
