The real question is how did his DNA get into the system in the first place?
They said the weapon was legally purchased, which means he had no criminal record... which is one way to get your DNA into the system. The other is to be a victim, particularly of sexual assault.
There is a photo of him in an office where there is what looks like a detailed city map on the wall. He is seated in someone’s office chair, not a criminal bench. Looks like a police office or a utility or city hall office where such maps would be useful.
Where have you heard that his DNA WAS in the system? I have not read anything about DNA in this case?
They’ve basically already said he used a legit FOID and was tracked by the serial number on the gun. Freaking moron to go through all the trouble to try and escape but not use a drop-gun.
