If you go to Moscow and St. Petersburg, you’d never think there was a war on.

Fascinating tidbit in here, borrowed from

: according to official records, out of 3,800 Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine “just eight were from Moscow and 26 from St. Petersburg.” The rest were from smaller, poorer places…
In Russia’s Biggest Cities, Ukraine War Fades to Background Noise
Bars are packed out, film and jazz festivals are sold out and Moscow’s police officers are busier handing out fines for public drinking than putting down dissent
Not surprising, since all Russian media is state-controlled.
Since the majority of those “Russians” being KIAd, wounded aor otherwise being POW / MIA, are not from Moscow or S.P. - the cemetaries of western Russia are not overflowing with fresh graves. But, then again, the Russian leadership has no quams about abandoning their military dead and injured on the battlefield. “Russians” have not the same care for their fighting personnel as do we Americans. “Russian” soldiers (both conscripts and contract) are mere expendable cannonfodder for Putin and his oligarchal leash-holders. Furthermore, it appears that even Russian generals are a dime-a-dozen commodity.
Just like you could go to any American city when we are at war with the flavor of the month and never no there was a war going on.
This is just a position paper to justify more military aid from the west to Ukraine. All Russia is able to do now is destroy one Ukrainian village at a time at its most advantageous logistic position and Ukraine’s worst logistic position. The idea they will be to blitzkrieg the entire country is fantasy. They already tried that and failed due to corruption and incompetence.
