The Chinese have neither the lift capability nor the experience to invade a huge island defended by a million angry Chinese.

Meanwhile the million natives of Formosa/Taiwan wish all the Chinese would leave. When it was a territory of Japan, the Japanese classified and identified all the tribes and groups of Taiwan (classed as subgroups of Austronesians). When the nationalist Chinese invaded following WWII, the natives were repressed and the Chinese ruined many benefits given to the natives by the Japanese.

When the Chinese go into another land, they completely take over the land for Chinese. The Austronesians are now a small minority in their own land (perhaps 5%).

That would take a least a low-yield nuke and...

Hey, remember a few years back when a missile suddenly shot out of the water off the LA Coast? I never heard if they figured out actually who fired it. All I remember was there was literally no warning.

What were they doing before, not keeping a close eye on China? They should keep a closer eye on Joe Diapers and Hunter and his glass pipe. Those two criminals already got millions to let Taiwan fall. China owns Joe Diapers.

The Independent made a mistake. The correct spelling is “general” m*rk m*lley.

I’m sure the Bidung administration has a strongly worded letter ready to go to warn Taiwan to not defend themselves.

you have to step outside of the audience and look at the theatre from outside.

our government is at that stage in a late republics life when every single thing it does is intended to make someone richer, regardless of impact on the country as a whole. much of our population only has a vague sense of it, but more dispassionate eyes outside can see it quite clearly.

we get sold a big sobby story to justify whatever the scam is gonna be this time, and few can really just look beyond it.

postulated chinese demonstrating that they can launch nukes from subs which in turn are launched from modified cargo ships.

the fact everyone ignored it or said it was normal contrail tells you what you need to know, along with the location and geopolitics at the time.

But they are drafting a strongly worded letter, which will be ready to mail, should they attack.

Why doesn’t Milley call his Chinese counterpart? He’s great for that....

“I suspect many Chinese military have less than zero respect for President Biden and cannot wait to (politically) rub his face into that mess...

ChiComm military leadership positions are bought by festooned and wealthy elitists in the ChiComm party. No military experience necessary. If you think our Gen. Miley is joke, the ChiComm generals are even bigger clowns.

Interesting. So, many of their generals are selected in the way our American President choses people for Ambassadorships.
Cronyism, quid pro quo, nepotism.

The way I see it, the ChiComms are another incarnation of the old dynasties that ruled China for thousands of years. If you were a nobleman with land and money, you could buy yourself a seat in the ruling dynasty, and have some measure of assurance that the emperor wouldn’t crush you, especially if the emperor and his privy court found you useful to attain more wealth and power.

I’m no expert in Chinese history, but the entire ChiComm government setup smells like another Chinese dynasty to me, including, as you said, cronyism, back-scratching and nepotism.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Just like the FBI watched very closely the 19 Islamists who aircraft into the Twin Toery, Pentagon and a field in PA?

Just like the FBI watched very closely the Tsarnaev brothers?

Well, the FBI did watch president Trump very closely.
