I do not understand the Germans, over verious times in the past going back to Katherine the Greate, the Germans have migrated to Russia, maybe now would be another good time for them to do so again, they may need to use some minor force, but their woke army, I am sure is up for it

The Germans suffer from deep guilt. They have become, as a population, pacifists. I have watched that evolution personally from 1969 to the present. Their greatest fear is neo-Nazism and a revival of militarism.

As a member of NATO, they agreed to participate in Afghanistan, but stipulated their troops would only serve in a non-combat role. Germany is now putting an additional $100 billion into defense due to Ukraine. I doubt that commitment lasts very long.

Germany likes to see itself as the middleman between the West and Russia. The Germans and Soviets inflicted the greatest casualties on one another during WII. We sometimes forget that the Soviet Union was primarily responsible for the defeat of the Third Reich.

As many as 27 million Soviets lost their lives, with as many as 11.4 million military deaths joined by up to 10 million civilian deaths due to military activity and an additional 8 million to 9 million deaths due to famine and disease.

80 percent of all German military casualties occurred on the Eastern Front. Germany lost 5.5 million soldiers and 1.8 million civilians. One of them was my father in law.
