It’s entirely possible DeSantis will make a VP deal and sit this one out.

Maybe not all that close to Trump politically, and I know most here dislike her, including me, but Trump is nothing if not a calculating pragmatist.
If Michelle Obama is running, Trump will need a woman on the ticket who doesn’t inflame the middle.
Has DeSantis ever shown an interest in running? Even once?
I hope that does not happen. The VP role is mostly an impotent one. DeSantis will be more effective governing our third largest state (in population) than sitting on the sidelines in Trump's shadow.
Also, Trump should announce his candidacy now if he is running in 2024. This will give him some measure of protection from those looking to take him out.
