What is the over/under on how long before Blue States start demanding a law to prevent this type of thing or pass state laws to try and stop it ??
If this trend continues in 5-10 years Blue states will be gutted with a few super wealthy people and everyone else living on the streets
exit taxes?

A number of years ago there was a bill in the California legislature to tax wealthy individuals who left the state, even after they left. Let that sink in. The bill’s sponsors wanted to force such a person to pay California taxes even if he lived exclusively in, say, Florida.
I don’t think the bill passed. But hey, California. Why not try again?

Unfortunately their liberal votes come with them.
California already claims the right to tax companies on their worldwide income if they have any presence in California. And if a corporation leaves California, to continue to tax the corporation for several years thereafter. Of course, California defines what worldwide income is, and also what percentage of that income is California’s piece of the action. For companies with headquarters in California, I believe that percentage is 100%.
