The base of GOP voters seems to have an aversion to holding people accountable.

We often hold them accountable for moral failings (which Democrats completely ignore in their candidates) but never hold them accountable for growing government power. Because many of us hope there is a chance we might get some free stuff, too.

But when you consider the kind of backroom deals a candidate needs to make to actually win a very expensive US Senate race, it's not surprising that fewer than 10% of them have any character at all.

Good comment.

Our system is corrupt. Money, not principles, drives it.

Everyone views the government as a giant trough of money for themselves.

When the money runs out, and it will, the system will implode. Our debt and unfunded liabilities currently stand at $200 TRILLION. That kind of spending is simply unsustainable.
