MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Gas Transport System Operator (GTSOU) has accepted a request from Gazprom for Wednesday to transport 42.1 million cubic meters of gas through the country, after a request of 42.2 mcm on Tuesday, data from GTSOU indicate.
Capacity was requested only through one of two entry points into Ukraine's Gas Transport System, the Sudzha metering station. A request was not accepted through the Sokhranivka metering station.
"Gazprom is supplying Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine at the volume confirmed by the Ukraine side via the Sudzha metering station at 42.1 million cubic meters on June 29, with booking via the Sokhranivka metering station declined," Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told reporters.
GTSOU has declared a force majeure in regard to accepting gas for transit through Sokhranivka, citing the fact that it cannot control the Novopskov compressor station.
Gazprom believes there are no grounds for a force majeure or obstacles to continuing to operations as usual. Ukrainian specialists worked smoothly at the Sokhranivka and Novopskov stations all this time and continue to do so; transit through Sokhranivka was ensured in full, and there were and are no complaints from counterparties, the Russian gas giant has said.
Ukraine has suggested shifting transit volumes from Sohranivka to Sudzha, but Gazprom asserts that this is technologically impossible based on the Russian flow scheme. Also, the distribution of volumes is prescribed in the agreement on cooperation from December 30, 2019.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side insists that the payment should still be made on the basis of the estimated volume of transportation of the long-term contract stipulating 109 million cubic meters per day under the "pump or pay" rule. Gazprom, in turn, points out that Ukraine has reduced transit capacity by a third.

“..Wind generation in Europe on Tuesday accounted for 9.5% of the EU’s energy mix, compared with an average of 10% last week, WindEurope data showed. The change in weather, however, does not promise a significant increase in wind power, and hence in European renewable energy generation...”
a revealing article. I never realized that trade could occur among warring nations.
Two countries at war agreeing to conduct commerce.
Can’t wrap my head around that.
Money fixes (almost) anything.

If you support Ukraine you support antifa and you are evil.

I don’t understand your post. It doesn’t seem to apply to the article. Please explain.. Thanks.
So you support 6.00 a gallon gas prices. That’s evil.
Let’s face it, anyone who supports Ukraine hates America. Or do you have to drive to work everyday?
Like Cargill sending wheat to North Vietnam? Happens all the time in "limited" wars.
Come on socialist, defend yourself.

fyi - when an article is posted on FR it doesn’t mean the poster agrees or disagrees with the information gleaned. In this case it comes from reliable sources and has information of which I had no knowledge. I would like to see others on FR read and discuss, add their knowledge, and explore the subject. Making unsubstantiated accusations adds nothing, IMO.
Lol that’s a bs response. Word salad. You are a socialist.
Just figure Russia won the oil war.....cause they have.
“Two countries at war agreeing to conduct commerce. Can’t wrap my head around that.”
Pretty simple, actually. Ukraine will be cut loose by Europe immediately (rather than after they lose the war) if they block the movement of Russian gas through their country. So, it continues.
“If you support Ukraine you support antifa and you are evil.”
Well stated.
such a strange war.
where both parties are still working together to keep pipelines running. (if they weren’t, there would be no working pipelines).
so counter-intuitive.
but western backers of ukraine absolutely cannot lose gas access, so ukraine has to allow it.
I do think, given the strides russia had made in business and politics in germany, that they are going easy on using gas for leverage because they may expect to be able to restart trade with germany at some point sooner than later.
I suspected germany might eventually flip to a more pro-russian posture given how clearly parts of the political class were bought by russia, but for now I am wrong. but a lot of businesses in germany cannot be happy about this.
