While you may be correct. It is Illinois after all, that was NOT the point of my post.
My point was, specifically, President Trump’s influence across the board, nationwide, and his track record that backs this fact up. There is no other Republican that can in their wildest dreams approach the man’s effectiveness and influence.
This was directed primarily at the Never-Trumper Trolls here on FreeRepublic. Of which there are many.

I agree fully with your point, and may Trump’s batting average only increase.

But it is also true that his endorsement of Bailey came after a major shift in polls a few weeks ago that put Bailey on top with a sizable lead. That was a direct result of the negative ads hammering Irvin as can be seen in this piece from July 10, long before the endorsement:
