Anyone who has even watched a few episodes of Judge Judy knows her testimony would be considered hearsay and ruled inadmissible, her only direct witnessing was apparently cleaning up some ketchup one time. Considering how many lawyers sit in congress, they all know that as well, to even pretend they don't is lunacy. Still they went with her testimony not because it was damning, or admissible in a real court but because they are running a taxpayer funded smear operation and they could get a news cycle or two out of it before it was quietly buried by the press.
I don't think the ringleader of this kangaroo court even care, they just want to push negative press at Trump and hope for a DOJ indictment, no matter how flimsy, so Trump has to take the ride in court and the press can start calling him "criminally indicted former president"... in their coverage.
What should happen is that the process of this sham committee should be outlawed and the ringleaders and conspirators barred from office or at a bare minimum censured so they can no longer sit on a congressional committee. They should also be criminally prosecuted for impersonating law enforcement and let them stand trial for real with real rules... but I fear the republic won't last long enough to see that justice doled out.
