It’s cold, I’m told.

Been to Minot several times while on an inspection team...in the middle of summer and HOT weather. I teased my team mates and asked about “all this cold” that I’ve heard about.

“Only the best go North” and it held true during our inspection trips which usually went well for the missile wing.

There is at least one place worse-- Thule, Greenland.

I knew a guy from a former life who serviced planes there. One winter evening he was taking his time pumping out the tank of a bomber and the commander told him to hurry up or he would get a worse assignment.

He said "What could be worse than pumping out your $#*+ on a winter night in Greenland?" Shortly thereafter, he got reassigned to Grand Forks AFB, Minot's twin in North Dakota.
