Along with that, it occurred to me the 40% of abortions done on black women is probably in line with the demographics in the areas where abortions are common.

States with the highest percentages of black population are predominantly in the conservative Deep South, namely, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

Friday's SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe-v-Wade stemmed from a case in Mississippi (Dobbs-v-Jackson Women's Health) involving the only abortion clinic in MS.

If you look at demographics by state, your statistics are true. Look at it by country or metropolitan area, and my original comment is also true. Except for Los Angeles, where the % of blacks in the city is about 9.8%.

Illinois has 102 countries. 5 of them have the majority of abortions. 4 counties that make up most of the Chicago metro area, and St. Clair county, which has the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.

Another interesting tidbit - Illinois is now up to about 20% of its abortions done on non-residents. Pritzker's tourist bureau is doing something right.
