So Senators, you are of the opinion that judges should vote based on their ideology (or more important your ideology) and preconceptions rather than on the arguments presented before them at the time the issue is litigated? That philosophy negates the very concept of “judging” and replaces it with rulings simply based on the individual judges temperament and political leanings rather than being based on the written word of the laws and constitution. I’m fairly certain the founding fathers envisioned a thoughtful Supreme Court who would do their best to interpret the Constitution and Amendments and Laws passed by their co-equal branch and signed by another co-equal branch.
