I think the weekend trips to Delaware are to pump him full of the drugs they are using to keep him marginally functional.

At best drugs might slow down the progression, curtail some of his outbursts. But none will stop the behavior, speech nor the path he’s heading down.
Drugs to alter his behavior are very difficult to dose because you’re dealing with the brain connections. Some will even cause a worse reaction.
They will continue to alter his public appearances.
